The Kindernothilfe Foundation: Sustainable Endowment
The Kindernothilfe Foundation helps children around the world to build a self-determined future. Particular emphasis is placed on access to education, helping people to help themselves, healthy nutrition, protection from violence, environmental protection and a strong environment. Under the guiding principle of ‘building a future and providing long-term help’. the Kindernothilfe Foundation was established in early 1999. Since then, many committed individuals have already decided to provide lasting and effective support and assistance to children. In total, there are over 143 personal endowment funds and 36 trust funds under the umbrella of the Kindernothilfe Foundation. Twenty-six years after its establishment, the Kindernothilfe Foundation manages 66.5 million euros. This makes it one of the largest foundations in Germany with a strong community.
Alongside Kindernothilfe e.V., the Kindernothilfe Foundation is an indispensable pillar for effectively alleviating the suffering of children in the future. Within Kindernothilfe, the Kindernothilfe Foundation forms a separate body with its own foundation council, executive board and management.

A wide range of endowment options
There are several ways to support the Kindernothilfe Foundation: for example with a general endowment, an endowment to a focus fund, the establishment of your own fund or trust fund and more options. We are happy to advise you and accompany you on your journey into the donor community. When you establish your own foundation, we take care of all the formalities. Our expertise, combined with our many years of experience and, last but not least, the support of our donor community, guarantees successful development work. We want to continue this work in the future and not lose sight of our focus on children in need, even in difficult times.

A foundation is able to generate income from interest on its existing and, ideally, steadily growing assets. This money is then channeled into the foundation's designated purpose. The more capital the assets contain, the higher the income generated and the greater the support that can be provided for a development project. Every single person in the donor community contributes to the success of a foundation. This makes endowments sustainable, whereas the flow of money from donations can come to a standstill if donations dry up.
